Lesley Burke is a Licensed Professional Counselor, (LPC) Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and EMDR practitioner serving individuals 18 and older. With a Master of Arts degree in counseling and Art Therapy from Marylhurst University, she has worked in women's residential and outpatient treatment, as well as in private practice.

Lesley brings unique approaches to her work with clients, utilizing both art therapy (for when talking about the problem isn't enough!) -- and EMDR, a profoundly effective approach to helping clients work through past trauma.

Trauma (including PTSD and Complex PTSD) and anxiety are the primary focus of Lesley's work, but she has substantial experience supporting clients coping with symptoms of depression, addiction and disordered eating. She offers her services at $80-$120 per session, including discounts for those facing severe financial hardship, and offers evening and weekend appointments at her practice location, 4179 SE Division in Portland.

I believe that every person has the potential for healing and optimal wellness, and working with a counselor can greatly help this natural process. Being heard and understood by another person is deeply healing, and in my experience the therapeutic relationship provides the safe foundation for self-exploration and courageous changes.

I will spend time getting to know you ~ your concerns, your strengths, your values, and your hopes for the future. Together we will work toward understanding your story and practice identifying resources, building on your strengths, and learning new skills. I work with each client in a unique and different way, which may include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution- Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness and relaxation techniques.

I enjoy working with clients from many different backgrounds and have worked with individuals and families around issues of child abuse and childhood trauma, parenting, significant life changes, anxiety, depression, and chronic disease management. I have a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest Christian University, and a Bachelor's degree in Family and Human Services from University of Oregon.

I see clients during evening and weekend hours. Please contact me by phone or email to set up a free 20-minute consultation to see if we are a good fit to work together. My fee is $40 for a 50-minute session, and I accept cash or check for payment. I have a sliding scale option available for those in significant financial hardship.

To be alive in these times often means we have to contend with significant struggles, and we could all use a little help navigating our way through them. As we look around at our cultural habits, it is easy to see how some of our feelings of overwhelm, loss, and anxiety stem from disconnection; disconnection from ourselves, other people, and the natural world. This can make it difficult to know our truest desires and which direction to go next.

Larissa offers counseling, energy work, spiritual guidance, and creative interventions to collaboratively weave connection in as many dimensions as possible, fostering deeper bonds within relationships, the physical and energetic body, emotions, and personal wisdom and intuition.

Larissa is a non-binary*, mixed heritage individual with training in counseling, spirit work, community organizing, and performance art. They have a Masters in Counseling from Lewis and Clark, a certificate in Ecopsychology, and are a senior apprentice with Jai Medina at the School of Shamanic Arts (http://jaimedina.com). They have been engaged in social justice work for about a decade and incorporate understandings of systemic privilege and oppression in their work with clients.

Larissa is available to work with individuals, children, romantic partners, and families. They are particularly skilled in working with male-identified people who want to examine their relationship and communication skills, struggling adolescents, and people undergoing grief or trauma processing.

Call or email (503-974-6135/lkaulcounseling@gmail.com) to schedule an appointment or for a free 20 minute consultation. Fees are $40 for a 50 minute session. Sliding scale fees are available for those experiencing significant financial hardship.

(*Non-binary: a gender identity that exists outside of the traditional gender binary of "man" or "woman," also known as genderqueer. Larissa uses "they/them" pronouns.)

Thanks!

Serving Adults & Youth ~ Counseling, Mindfulness, EMDR

Jessica has always been interested in the idea of self-regulation and what factors can facilitate or inhibit an individual's ability to make changes in their lives. The idea that we are capable of change, that the brain is able to learn new behaviors, or "rewire", led her to study neurofeedback, or brainwave biofeedback. Utilizing this technique, Jessica is able to guide clients towards better emotional regulation, enhanced attention and improved cognitive functioning.

Jessica has worked since 2010 as a neurofeedback clinician, specializing in addressing anxiety disorders. Additionally, she completed her counseling internship working with adolescents and their families at Response, a part of Jewish Child and Family Services in Chicago, IL. In her free time she loves to travel, take walks and spend time with her family.

Jessica's practice approach includes neurofeedback, EMDR, counseling, and mindfulness techniques. She is Board Certified in Neurofeedback and has a Master's Degree in Counseling.
